About
A hackathon for increasing MRI accessibility
2-3 May 2024
We organized MRathon 2024 in collaboration with the ezyMRI NerdFest , focusing on the increasing the accessibility of MRI through open-source and vendor-neutral pulse sequence programming.
MRathon aims to bring together experts to share knowledge and collaborate on new solutions for ensuring transparency and accessibility in MRI research.
A stellar list of MRI experts
Experts who specialize in implementing cutting-edge research into open-source projects will be present during the hackathon to offer valuable insights on the latest developments in the vendor-neutral ecosystem.

A sprint to push boundaries for collective creativity
Participants who would like to work on a coding project are welcome to submit their project idea for making MRI research more accessible!
Registration
Registration is now open!
MRathon is a volunteer-driven effort!
In addition to organizing the hackathon, we also bring you the legendary MRathon Highlights after-party, and we do this without the support of the ISMRM.
Both MRathon and the Highlights party have been free for everybody, but we would appreciate a small donation to prevent no-shows and to encourage us to keep going.
As a thank you, every donation of $50 will include a VIP ticket and a free drink at the MRathon Highlights after-party on May 9 (following the ISMRM closing reception)
Socialize
This is a great opportunity to enhance your network and start new collaborations!
From ideas to action
A hackathon pitch is an excellent launching pad to bring your accessible MRI ideas to life! If you have a project in mind, don't forget to open a GitHub issue to have it displayed on our website 👇

Day-1
Social
Before the code, let's all unwind,
Find some friends, leave stress behind,
With snacks and chats, what will we find?
Connections made, perfectly timed!

Day-2
Breakfast
Take a late breakfast, don't be hasty,
Get ready for a hacking party!

Pitch session
Pitch your MRI project with passion and might,
Attract people with your vision, make it shine bright.
Encourage a code sprint, let creativity appeal,
Bring your project to life, make it real.
Hacking
If you've found your project or formed a team,
Let the code fill your screen, like a dev's dream.
Time is short, but your skills are fit,
You can do it, just git add & commit.

Lunch
Time to recharge!
Feed your brain and discuss what you found,
Caffeinate yourself to stand your ground!
Hacking
Let keyboards click like a hailstorm,
As headphones blasting your favorite song,
Git push in a rush what could go wrong?
You're almost there, stay strong!

Snack
Grab a bite, take a seat,
A little rest for minds so fleet,
Sweet or salty, treats to eat,
Fuel your brain, feel the beat!
Hacking
In a room where ideas ignite,
Where coders code deep into the night,
Merging branches left and right,
Victory's in sight, hold on tight!

Catch session
Somebody told me your code has a back-end
And even a front-end
That you coded in MRathon this year
It's not confidential, you've got potential
So show us what you've done!
