About
A hackathon for comparable MRI
To promote reproducibility, collaboration, and standards through open source practices in magnetic resonance. From scanner to publication.
This year's MRathon aims to bring together experts to share knowledge and collaborate on new solutions for ensuring consistency and comparability in MRI measurements. This includes efforts in image acquisition, reconstruction, post-processing, and publication.
A stellar list of speakers
Each day of the event will kick off with presentations from experts who specialize in implementing cutting-edge research into open-source projects.

A sprint to push boundaries for collective creativity
Even though we do not anticipate an intense coding marathon after a busy ISMRM annual meeting, those who would like to work on a coding project are welcome to submit their project idea for making MRI reproducible!
Party
Get ready to rock the house and ignite the spirit of MRathon 2023 with an electrifying, mind-blowing extravaganza!
After the annual meeting, to unwind and take a break, we are throwing a party at a venue that hosted Drake!
Not for the rhyme, for real 😎
Socialize
This is a great opportunity to enhance your network and start new collaborations!
Share your opinion
What do you believe is the most significant obstacle in making MRI a comparable imaging modality? We welcome perspectives from all levels of expertise, from beginners to experts.
Hack
If you're still full of energy to continue your coding projects even after the long annual meeting, please do so!
VENUE
Day-1
Hangover Brunch
Take a late breakfast, don't be hasty,
Let your body recover from the MRathon-Highlights party!
Talks: Part 1
Let's begin the day with champions of open source,
Get inspired by their talks and let enthusiasm run its course.
Pitch session
Pitch your MRI project with passion and might,
Attract people with your vision, make it shine bright.
Encourage a code sprint, let creativity appeal,
Bring your project to life, make it real.
Hacking
If you've found your project or formed a team,
Let the code fill your screen, like a dev's dream.
Time is short, but your skills are fit,
You can do it, just git add & commit.
Day-2
Breakfast
This is the second breakfast, the last hackathon day,
You've achieved a ton, don't let it sway!
Feed your brain for one last round,
Caffeinate yourself to stand your ground!
Talks: Part 2
It's time to hear from the experts and learn,
The benefits of open-source, it's your turn,
To motivate yourself to go that extra mile,
And get the recognition you deserve with style.
Hack-eat-hack
Let keyboards click like a hailstorm,
As headphones blasting your favorite song,
Git push in a rush what could go wrong?
You're almost there, stay strong!
Wrap up
Somebody told me your code has a back-end
And even a front-end
That you coded in MRathon this year
It's not confidential, you've got potential
So show us what you've done!
Social
If this was all chatGPT
Would not it be a pity?
For we all have creativity
Don't we deserve a party!
Checked a box, I am not a robot
Selected the squares and whatnot
So let's celebrate this organic compound
With good music, good drinks, and good sound 🕺💃
